You must be a United States citizen to create a fundraising campaign on The Sympathy Fund. Campaigns are set up through your funeral home or directly on Legacy.com. Donations are permitted from supporters in and outside of the US.

The Sympathy Fund processes your funds quickly because many fundraising needs are time-sensitive. Bank transfers then take 2-5 business days to arrive. Fund transfers will occur throughout the campaign. When a fundraiser is linked to a funeral home, the initial transfers are sent directly to the funeral home until the agreed-upon amount is satisfied. The balance is processed to your account throughout the campaign.
